It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features 2 girls being busy with gardening work. They are surrounded by flowers and birds. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company "Wendt & Kuhn". When the music is playing, the inner pole with the birds is rotating. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Taler, Taler du musst wandern". To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise.

There is a working stopper on the side, too. The music box is in great condition, the paint is excellent. There are only a few tiny paint chips mainly on the base to mention.

There is, though, the middle bird on the pole missing. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Dates to the 1940s and is marked with the. Marked also with a second red Erzgebirge label.
