159: The Phil Woods Quartet/Quintet 20th Anniversary Set (5 CDs). My name is Michael Erlewine. I no longer own AMG, but my collection of CDs and LPs is now part of the permanent collection of the library system at Michigan State University, numbering some 720,000 CDs, etc. And since I love jazz, I always kept my Mosaic Records Box Sets. Many of: These are long out of print and are expensive at that. I may have listened to some once, but many not at all.
Many of these disc boxes are still wrapped in cellophane. In other words, these CDs/LPs are in MINT condition as are the liner notes, The boxes are good too; they have been sitting on a shelf in a locked room for years.
T explain much about what the Mosaic Record sets are other than Mosiac published limited editions of rare jazz recordings from the vaults of many labels, limited to only so many copies and that? Because of these limits, they were allowed to go into the private vaults of major labels and publish jazz gems that otherwise might never have been published. These CDs have never been played, most not even once. And the vinyl was never played.
